What is a Large LED Display?
A large LED Display usually refers to an LED screen system with a large area. Its area usually ranges from tens to hundreds of square meters, and can even exceed 1,000 m². Due to heat dissipation and cost limitations, the large LED displays usually have a larger pixel pitch, such as 4 mm, 6 mm, or 10 mm.
What Makes a Large LED Display Different From a Normal LED Display?
Compared with regular-sized screens, the large LED displays have these obvious characteristics:
- Larger area: Regular LED screens are only tens or a little over a hundred square meters, while large LED displays are much bigger.

Can Large LED Displays be Used Indoors and Outdoors?
The large LED screen can be used both indoors and outdoors. However, the design and configuration are completely different.
If your project is indoors, a large LED screen can offer lower brightness, finer image quality, and flexible installation. If you plan to install the screen outdoors, we can also meet your needs. We can achieve sufficient brightness, refresh rate, and protection level to meet your outdoor requirements.
What is the Recommended Viewing Distance of a Large LED Display?
The suitable viewing distance is generally determined by the pixel pitch and screen size. The larger the pixel pitch and screen area, the longer the suitable viewing distance.
Choosing the right viewing distance ensures the best performance while avoiding unnecessary budget waste. Based on our experience, the optimal viewing distance for a large LED screen is about pixel pitch × 2. For example, a P8 screen has an ideal viewing distance of around 16 meters.
What Brightness is Required for a Large LED Display?
The brightness of a large LED screen must be determined based on the ambient environment. Different environments require different levels of screen brightness.
For most indoor scenarios, such as shopping malls and conference centers, lower brightness is more suitable. 600–1,200 nits is an appropriate brightness range. If the indoor space sometimes has light exposure, you can raise the brightness a bit.
When used outdoors, the screen will be exposed to direct sunlight during the day, which reduces visibility. In this case, a high brightness of over 5,000 nits is required.
What is the Maximum Resolution That a Large LED Display Can Achieve?
The resolution is determined by both the screen size and pixel pitch. Therefore, in theory, a large LED screen has almost no limit in resolution. Even at 8K or 16K, we can definitely achieve it.
However, higher resolution is not always better. When the pixel pitch decreases, the density of the light-emitting diodes on the screen will increase, and the heat dissipation pressure will also rise accordingly. This will result in higher costs. Therefore, you need to carefully choose the resolution based on your budget.

Yes. Large LED displays can be connected to almost all common devices, including computers, cameras, players and network systems. You can control it for manual playback, automatic playback, or remote operation of its content.
